What Is a Real NASCAR Fan?

Wednesday January 7, 2009

This topic comes up in the comments quite often.
People claim to know what who the "real" NASCAR fans are. This phrase
gets kicked around a lot but nobody has ever really explained what it
means. I spent some time thinking about "real" NASCAR fans and came up with this definition.

What do you think of my list? What, exactly, defines a "real" NASCAR fan?

Meet Team Toyota 2009

Monday January 5, 2009

The driver landscape for 2009 still has some
question marks however the Toyota drivers for 2009 seem to have settled
into their seats. Joe Gibbs Racing will lead the pack of Camry drivers
in 2009 but there are a total of eleven teams set to carry the Toyota
logo this season.

Here are the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Toyota drivers.

What's Next for Ray Evernham?

Thursday January 1, 2009

According to this story over at ThatsRacin.com
the merger between Gillett-Evernham Motorsports and Petty Enterprises
seems to be complete. The leading rumor has the new team still carrying
the Petty name and fielding Reed Sorenson in the legendary #43 along
with Kasey Kahne and A.J. Allmendinger in the #9 and #19 cars.

If this news is confirmed the question will become what happens to Ray Evernham? He recently said that he wasn't cut out to be a car owner
so what's next for the three-time Championship winning crew chief? This
would be a great opportunity for some team to pick up Ray's vast racing
knowledge to get them to the next level.
